Fellow Higley members: As many of you close camp for the winter and don’t know what to do with unused canned goods/dry goods/frozen foods, etc., OR you might be going through closets and cupboards doing some fall house cleaning, please keep in mind that our Colton Neighborhood Center , Sugar Bush Lane, South Colton, would be very grateful for such items. They also accept gently used, coats, jackets, boots, hats, mittens, etc. And with the holidays right around the corner, toys and gift cards are especially welcome. Fellow Higley Members -
For many of you, your family has enjoyed time here at Higley for years and even generations. For others, perhaps it is only recent. Either way, we can all agree – we love Higley! The Higley Association was first formed in May of 1949 with approximately 35 members dedicated to promoting “…greater enjoyment and better use of the recreational facilities available…”. And “…to promote friendly relations through various forms of social activities…”. Today, we have approximately 340 members!! We will celebrate the 75th anniversary next year! We would love for you to share old photos, memories or just tell us what you love about Higley. i.e., J. Smith – have been coming to Higley (at my grandparents camp) since 1984. I now own the camp with my family. “We love the people and the atmosphere – so many great summer memories here”. B. Jones, coming to Higley since 2017 when we first rented a camp here. We now own our camp! A great place for kids (family friendly) and close to both Canton and Potsdam.

6/8/22 - New NYS Boating Requirement
Friends, NYS has created a new requirement for boaters on Higley Flow and nearby waters. We are within 10 miles of the Adirondack Park Blue Line so these requirements apply to us!! It's the Special Notice here: https://www.dec.ny.gov/animals/107807.html Technically, we're required to either pull our craft and take it to an inspection station or at least certify that we've cleaned, drained and dried. Certificate must be retained onboard. |
