'Twas
the days before Xmas And all round the Flow Not a creature was stirring Because of the snow. The boats were all stored And so were the docks While snowmobiles tried Avoiding snow-covered rocks. Then out on the lawn There arose such a clatter I put down my beer To see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew in a flash Pulled back triple-thick curtains and cleaned off the glass. |
There
in the snow Was my greatest fear The munching and crunching Of ten hungry deer. They missed not a branch In their daily feed There goes the rose bushes And all the bird seed. Oh I could have chased them And made the deer go But you don't run outside When it's fifteen below. So I sit and think warm thoughts Of friends far and near And wish you Merry Christmas And a Happy New Year! |
